The PIC Story
Pillars In Christ (PIC) is a church built not on perfection, but on grace. We are a community of people from diverse backgrounds and brokenness; restored, transformed, and continually being shaped into Christlikeness. At our core, we are committed to raising and empowering a new generation to love God and love people, and to grow in Godly character across all spheres of society.
The story of PIC began in 2015 with Raymond Fernando; then an executive in the entertainment industry and an educator. Though he had served in church from a young age, he carried a quiet hesitation about stepping into pastoral leadership. It took many years and much prayer for him to finally answer God’s call.
The turning point came when his wife, Cindy Olivia, then an executive in property development and also an educator, felt the same stirring in her heart. Cindy, who had grown up in a broken home and experienced her own disappointments with the church, had served faithfully from a young age, though not without wrestling with bitterness. Over time, God worked deeply and individually in both their lives, softening their hearts and uniting them in vision.
At 42 years old, Raymond finally took a leap of faith. Together, with Cindy’s full support, they planted a new church under the covering of Gereja Pantekosta di Indonesia (GPdI), starting with a small group of people from two interdenominational cell groups affiliated with City Harvest Church Singapore.
Inspired by the Great Commission and moved by the message of the cultural mandate, GPdI Pillars In Christ was officially launched on Ascension Day, May 14, 2015, in South Jakarta. From the beginning, the vision was clear; to be a church that delivers the Gospel with love and impact across all pillars of society.
PIC brings its own unique color to the body of Christ. We are especially passionate about reaching out to the overlooked and the rejected; starting with creatives, entertainers, and others who have longed to serve but often felt out of place in more conventional church settings.
This is our story; a story of obedience, redemption, and hope. And it’s just the beginning.

We see the potential and talent God has out in every single person and give them chance to reach their full potential for the glory of God.
We seek to carry out everything God has entrusted us well, do things wholeheartedly as for God and not unto men.
